All travelers arriving into Kenya through any point of entry must have a certificate of Covid-19 vaccination. Travelers below the age of eighteen (18) years are exempted from this requirement with effect from 21st December, 2021 and later extended to begin on 4th January, 2022. In view of this and in order to facilitate travel into the Kenya, the Ministry of health has considered and amended the vaccination requirements so that the following categories of travellers may be exempted from providing a vaccination certificate upon arrival in Kenya;
- Children below 18 years are exempted from the vaccination requirement;
- Travellers with medical conditions precluding vaccination-risk of thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome, history of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia, persons with history of myocarditis or pericarditis, and other such condition for which vaccination is contraindicated. Such persons shall be required to provide a letter from a recognized medical practitioner detailing the medical reason precluding vaccination;
- Travellers who have recovered from an active COVID-19 infection or received Convalescent plasma in the preceding 90 days. Such persons shall be required to provide a letter from a recognized medical practitioner showing that the person may have recovered from an active infection in the preceding 90 days;
- Returning unvaccinated Kenyans who have difficulties accessing vaccines in their current country of residence must be prepared to be vaccinated immediately upon entry and must register for vaccination on CHANJO-KE platform before departure. Proof of registration shall be required before entry into the country;
- All incoming visitors will be required to upload both negative Covid-19 PCR test results conducted within 72 hours of travel and the Covid-19 vaccination certificate onto the Global Haven program of the Trusted Travel Platform. APPLYING FOR A VISA
Entry visas to the Republic of Kenya are available either on application at the Embassy in Muscat, at the ports of entry and online through www.evisa.go.ke.
Citizens of Oman require visas to enter Kenya. Visas are available for a range of short term visits that include tourism/holiday, business, attending conferences/seminars and for family/friends visits. Single journey visas are valid for entry within ninety (90 days) from date of issue. The maximum duration is usually three months (90 days) from the date of entry. Applicants wishing to stay in Kenya longer than three months (90 days) should contact the Department of Immigration, Nairobi for the relevant long-term permits or extension of their visitors’ passes (visit www.immigration.go.ke for more information).
Waiver of Visa Fees for Children under 16 Years: The Government of Kenya has waved visa fees for all children under 16 years of age who are accompanying their parents to Kenya for holidays.
CATEGORIES OF VISAS
CATEGORY 1: (a) Nationals of the following Countries Do Not Require Visas to enter Kenya.
(b).Exemptions: The following persons do not require visas to enter Kenya.
CATEGORY 2: Nationals requiring Visas:
(a) Nationals of the following countries, classes and categories of persons may be issued with visas on application, at the Embassy, online or at the port of entry without reference to the Director of Immigration Services, Nairobi, provided that they do not fall under the classes and categories of persons mentioned under Chapter 1, paragraph (E) of the Visa Regulations.

Spouses and children accompanying delegates who fulfil the requirements of paragraph 2 (b) above may be issued with visas on application.
(c) Diplomats arriving to take up diplomatic assignments/appointments in Kenya may be issued with gratis entry visas on application and without reference to the Director of Immigration Services, Nairobi provided that: -
CATEGORY 3: Applications from nationals of the following countries and/or categories of persons require prior approval and are referred to the Immigration Department in Nairobi for approval:
a) Nationals from the following countries: Cameroon; Senegal; Afghanistan; Azerbaijan; Armenia; Iraq; Mali; North Korea; Somalia; Syria; Tajikistan; Lebanon; Palestine; Eritrea; Libya; Yemen
b) Applicants against whom there is some local objections or doubt in the country where the application is made.
c) Stateless persons or persons not holding valid passports or other travel documents issued by their own country of nationality, including recognized refugee holders of the United Nations Refugee Travel Documents.
d) Prohibited immigrants as enumerated under Section 33 (1) and (2) of the Kenya Citizenship and Immigration Act, 2011.
HOW TO APPLY FOR VISAS
PROCEDURE FOR ONLINE APPLICATION
1. Go to www.evisa.go.ke and click on create eVisa account.
2. Once logged in, select department of Immigration services.
3. Select submit Application.
4. Select Kenyan visa.
5. Select the type of visa and read the instructions carefully.
6. Fill in the application form.
7. Pay using visa card, MasterCard and other debit cards.
8. Await approval via email, then download and print the eVisa from your eVisa account.
9. Present your printed eVisa to the Immigration officer at the port of entry.
POINTS TO NOTE
1. Visa processing fee is non-refundable.
2. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
3. The possession of a Visa is not the final authority to enter the Republic of Kenya.
4. Engaging in any form of commercial business or employment without a requisite permit of pass is an offence.
5. A visa is required prior to entry into the Republic of Kenya.
6. The eVisa printout must be presented at the port of entry.
7. Visas will be valid for entry within 90 days (3 months) from the date of issue.

- Pacific Islands: Kiribati, Nauru, Solomon Islands; Papua, New Guinea, Vanuatu; Fiji Island, Samoa; Tonga, Tuvalu
- Asia: Malaysia (For less than 30 days stay), Maldives, Singapore, Brunei, Darussalam,
- Europe: Cyprus,
(b).Exemptions: The following persons do not require visas to enter Kenya.
- All persons whose passports are endorsed with valid Kenya re-entry passes or any other written authority in lieu of a re-entry pass.
- All passengers arriving and leaving by the same ship, and who do not leave the ship
- Passengers in transit through Kenya arriving and leaving by the same aircraft or transferring to another aircraft and who do not leave the international transit lounges at the International Airports in Kenya.
- Delegates attending regional or international conferences, meetings, workshops, seminars and courses sponsored by regional or international organizations of which Kenya is a member, provided that they hold a valid invitation. Visas are granted on application and on production of documentary evidence that the applicant is a bona fide delegate and the conference is sponsored by a regional or an international organisation of which Kenya is a member.
- Spouses and children accompanying delegates who fulfil the requirements outlined above may be issued with visas on application.
- Holders of Laissez-Passer documents issued by African Regional Integration Organisations and Other International Organisations, while travelling on official duty;
- Holders of Diplomatic and Service Passports from The Islamic Republic of Iran for a period not exceeding (30) Days stay.
- Holders of Diplomatic, Official, Special, and Service Passports, from The Republic of Turkey and members of their families holding valid Diplomatic, Official, Special, and Service Passports, while on Transit or Stay not exceeding ninety (90) days.
- Holders of Diplomatic, Official or Service Passports from the Federal Republic of Brazil for a period not exceeding ninety (90) days.
- Serving Members of the British Military (are exempted from visa formalities).
- The manifested crew of ships and aircraft passing through or stopping in Kenya for periods not exceeding seven (7) days in the case of air crew and fourteen (14) days for ship’s crew.
- Owners of private aircraft stopping over for refueling in Kenya and who do not leave the precincts of the airport.
- Ethiopia
- San Marino
CATEGORY 2: Nationals requiring Visas:

- Such persons produce documentary evidence of the nature of their official business or transit.
- Spouses and children accompanying such diplomats and government officials who fulfill the requirements of category 2 (d) above and provided such persons, their spouses and children do not fall under Section 33 (1) and (2) of the Kenya Citizenship and Immigration Act, 2011.

- Two passport size photographs ( blue background)
- Visa application form duly filled (Form 22)
- A letter of visa request (from the applicant) and signed by the applicant
- An invitation letter from the host
- Copy of Omani Visa
- A certified copy of the host’s ID Card, if Kenyan
- A certified copy of the host’s passport (bio-data page) and the pages where permit or residency permit has been endorsed if Non-Kenyan;
- Copy of tentative flight itinerary
- Application Referral visa Fee OMR 5
- When approved, the applicant will pay OMR 20 for a single entry visa.
- Valid Passport/Travel Document endorsed with a valid Omani Visa
- Waiting period is up to 2 months
MULTIPLE JOURNEY VISAS (MJV)
REQUIREMENTS:
- Two visa application forms 22 to be duly filled, signed and dated.
- Two passport size photographs of the applicant.
- Two copies of a Cover letter from the applicant detailing the need for an MJV.
- Copies of previous visas.
- Applicants applying for a Multiple Journey Visa to visit their spouses should avail in addition to the above, the following: -
- Their spouses National identity Card if Kenyan
- Residential/Work permit if spouse is a foreigner
- Copy of marriage certificate
- Parents applying for Multiple journey Visa’s to Kenya to visit their children in schools should avail copies of valid pupil’s passes and copies of valid residential permits in their countries of residence
- Fee is OR 40
MULTIPLE JOURNEY VISA APPLICATION FROM COMPANIES/ORGANISATIONS
REQUIREMENTS:
- Visa application forms 22 to be duly filled, signed and dated.
- Two passport size photographs of the applicant
- Copies of previous visas
- Copy of a cover letter bearing the company/organization’s letterheads
- Should specify the reason for applicant’s frequent visits
- Show connection between applicant and the company/organization
- The letter should have the name and signature of the person countersigning it.
- Copy of applicant’s resident permit if not residing in their country.
- Fee is OR 40
TRANSIT VISAS
REQUIREMENTS:
- Two visa application forms V.I to be duly filled, signed and dated.
- Two passport size photographs of the applicant.
- Two copies of valid Passport/travel document with a validity of at least six months.
- Copies of onward ticket/itinerary to a third destination.
- Transit Visa Fee is USD 20.

Types of Visas
a) Ordinary/Entry Visas
These are visas issued to all persons whose nationality require visas to enter Kenya for visits or residence and shall be issued strictly in accordance with the provisions of categories 1, 2 and 3 of the Visa Regulations.
b) Transit Visas
These are visas required by all persons whose nationality require visas to enter Kenya and are intending to transit through Kenya to a third destination for periods not exceeding three days and shall be issued strictly in accordance with the provisions of categories 1, 2 and 3 of the Visa Regulations.
c) Diplomatic Visas
Diplomatic (Multiple, Ordinary or Transit) Visas are issued gratis to holders of Diplomatic Passports on official visits. These visas should be issued strictly in accordance with the provisions of categories 1, 2 and 3 of the Visa Regulations.
d) Official/Service Visas
Official/Service (Multiple, Ordinary or Transit) Visas are issued gratis to holders of Official or Service passports on official visits. These visas should be issued in accordance with the provisions of categories 1, 2 and 3 of the Visa Regulations.
e) Multiple Journey Visas
All persons who are nationals of countries which require visas for Kenya and who by nature of their business or circumstances require to make frequent visits to Kenya may be issued with Multiple Journey Visas for Kenya valid for up to twelve (12) months or part there of as the case may be.
f) Courtesy Visas
Courtesy (Transit and Ordinary ) Visas may be issued gratis in accordance with the Provisions of categories 1, 2 and 3 of the Visa Regulations, where the applicant is not entitled to a Diplomatic Visa, but where it is considered by the issuing officer to be desirable on the grounds of international courtesy.
